Playing Trivia

Trivia is a timeless game that challenges players' knowledge across a wide range of topics. With CultureBot's Real-Time Trivia feature, you can easily host a trivia session directly within Slack.

Starting a game of Trivia in Slack

To start a new game, type in "/trivia" into the Slack channel that you want to start the game from.

Once you do this, a few settings will appear. One key setting is to Choose Your Trivia Questions. For this:

  • Choose from CultureBot's extensive library of over 55,000 trivia questions, spanning categories like history, science, pop culture, and more.
  • Set up your trivia game by selecting the number of questions, difficulty level, and any specific categories you want to include.

Reinforce Your Own Company History, Mission, or Goals

Build Trivia Questions for your company that pits team members against one another about who knows the company best. This is a great way to reinforce your company's message.

Launch the game in a Slack channel of your choice and watch as your team members compete to answer questions in real-time. And then keep an eye on the live leaderboard to see who's racking up the most points and celebrate the winners at the end of the game.

Hosting Slack Trivia is a great way to bring your team together for a quick mental break, while also learning fascinating facts and discovering hidden talents among your colleagues.

How It Works:

Game Flow:

  1. Someone starts the game by clicking "Click to Start Game!" button
  2. Questions appear one at a time in the channel
  3. Each question has multiple choice buttons (A, B, C, D) - only one is the correct answer
  4. Players have a set amount of time (e.g., 15 seconds, 30 seconds, etc.) to click their answer
  5. After the time expires, the next question automatically appears
  6. This continues for all questions (e.g., 5 questions, 10 questions)
  7. At the end, a final leaderboard shows everyone's scores

✅ It's a live, competitive experience

  • Everyone sees the same questions at the same time
  • Once a question moves on, you can't go back to answer it
  • If you join the channel mid-game, you can only answer questions that appear AFTER you arrive
  • Scores are calculated based on correct answers (10 points each)
  • The system shows a running leaderboard between questions
  • At the end, there's a winner! 🏆
