Opting Out of Birthday & Anniversary Reminders

How to Opt Out of Birthday or Work Anniversary Messages

CultureBot gives you full control over your personal celebration preferences. If you’d prefer not to receive birthday or work anniversary messages, you can opt out at any time directly from the CultureBot app. Please note that opting out means your birthday and/or work anniversary will not be publicly posted, and your manager will not be notified of your upcoming birthday and/or work anniversary.

Steps to opt out

  1. Open the CultureBot app in Slack/MS Teams

From Slack, open CultureBot and select the Home tab from the top menu.

  2. Navigate to the relevant section

Scroll to either the Birthday or Work Anniversary section, depending on which you’d like to manage.

  3. Opt out

Click the three-dot menu ( … ) next to your birthday or work anniversary and select the option to opt out.

Need to make changes later?

You can return to this same screen at any time to:

  • Update your date
  • Remove your birthday or work anniversary
  • Opt back in to celebrations

Your preferences are always flexible and entirely up to you!

If you're receiving reminders to add your birthday or work anniversary:

Some companies will send out automatic reminders to folks who do not have a birthday or anniversary in the system. If you're receiving these messages and would like to opt out, see the help text below "Would you like to keep receiving reminders to enter your birthday?" and select "No." This will opt you out of celebrations.
