🚀 Product Release Notes - November 11, 2025

A giant round of upgrades has landed in our web app!

This release brings several updates to our web app: a refreshed Shoutouts Reporting experience, a new Shoutouts Feed feature, improved Peer Rewards, more accessibility to Celebrations, a new Home page, and platform-wide UX upgrades.

Our focus for this release was consistency, performance, and usability to make CultureBot even easier to use on the web. 😌

Below is your guided tour of what is new, what changed, and how it all fits together to give you a faster and smarter CultureBot platform.

1. Introducing the Shoutouts Feed

NEW! The Shoutouts Feed is now visible to all employees, unlocking a company-wide window into recognition activity.

A better way to recognize

  • Easy filters to see recognition from today, last month, last 90 days, and custom dates
  • You can toggle from seeing the company feed to your personal recognition, so you can remember the moment you were recognized
  • Quickly check the leaderboard to see who’s given and received the most recognition, and which shoutouts are gaining the most engagement

2. Shoutouts Reporting Improvements

NEW! Admin users now have a more reliable reporting experience, making it easier  to share insights with your team.

Enhanced filtering tools for better insight

• Filter by manager, department, location, sender, receiver, or shoutout type

• The default date range is set to the last 90 days, but you can easily select the timing you want

• Active filter badges show you exactly what is applied, and you clear any individual filter or clear everything all at once

A fresh visual experience

• You can now switch between table view and a new chart view

• Chart view gives you screenshot ready charts to share recognition with leadership or in your next deck

• You can easily separate leaderboards for givers and receivers

• All charts respect your active filters, making this highly customizable

Cleaner controls

• Sender and receiver columns now include user avatars from Slack/Teams, making it more visually appealing

• Sender-focused department and location data now included under filters

What’s next

We plan to expand department and location data for receivers too. This will help HR teams understand which parts of the organization are receiving the most recognition. Multi-recipient shoutouts will show department lists when this enhancement ships.

3. Peer Rewards Improvements

Peer Rewards has been rebuilt into a dedicated, streamlined section, and now is home to Point Rules and a Point Totals report.

Smarter gift card catalog

• A new search feature allows you to search across gift card names and descriptions

• “Affordable Only” filter defaults to show cards you have enough points to redeem

Redemptions Updates

  • For admins, the redemptions page has been updated to show Pending Redemptions by default,
  • Added the ability to export redemptions for easier sharing with your accounting/finance team

New Point Totals Page

• This provides a full user table with current points, points received, and points given

• Now allows you to send individual notifications or “notify all” when needed to remind team members of their points

• This is admin-only access today, with manager access planned in a future release

New Home for Point Rules

• Previously, point rules lived under shoutouts, but we’ve moved it to live with peer rewards

• You can now select point rules for monthly and daily allowance in the web app. This was previously limited to a setting in Slack only

What’s Next

An improved flag for clarifying which country you're redeeming cards in, so international users avoid selecting cards in the wrong region. Also upcoming - more manager visibility into the Point Totals Table.

4. Celebrations Now Available in the Web Portal

A major step forward. Celebration settings are now fully available in the web app. 🥳

What’s new

• Birthday, anniversary, and custom celebration settings were previously locked to Slack only; you can now edit and control your celebrations from the web

• New optional CSV upload to add your team’s birthdays and anniversaries directly in the web app

• We’ve moved manager and employee alert controls into the Celebrations section

• All custom celebration settings from your previous system are carried forward; nothing is changing with your setting except that you now have better access!

5. Technical Infrastructure - Improvements

A major under-the-hood upgrade that strengthens the foundation of CultureBot and unlocks faster future development.

  • A new Home tab is now accessible to all CultureBot users, giving non-admins the ability to set their birthday and anniversary
  • Smarter channel dropdowns gives you a faster connection to your Slack/Teams workspace; new channels appear in CultureBot within 1 hour of creation
  • Channel sorting is now grouped by public vs private settings and listed alphabetically
  • Every place where timing matters now shows “CultureBot time zone” clearly - reducing confusion for global teams
  • A unified table experience gives consistent search, filters, pagination, and exports across the platform
  • Improved and standardized UX/UI in the web portal, including unified user dropdowns with avatars, filters, and a cleaner URL structure for easier link sharing
  • Optimized bundling, caching, and reusable hooks for faster app performance
