Set Up Shoutout Nudges

A nudge keeps recognition going. It reminds a channel or team when it goes quiet, or prompts people to recognize who's doing good work. Use one to bring #sales back after a slow month, or to remind a manager who hasn't recognized anyone on their team lately.
Please note: nudges are available on Standard and Pro plans, send in Slack only, and are set up by full admins. Nudges replace a legacy CultureBot feature called "Shoutout Day".
Who You Can Nudge - Set Up Multiple Instances
- A channel: post in a channel such as #sales.
- Selected departments: post in each department's channel, DM its people, or both.
- Managers: DM a manager who hasn't recognized anyone on their team in a while.
- The whole company: a weekly prompt in a company channel, a DM to people who haven't given a shoutout, or both.
How to Set Up a Nudge

- Open Digests & Nudges: In the CultureBot web app, go to Shoutouts, then Digests & Nudges, and click Add a nudge.
- Who to Nudge: Pick one of the audiences above.
- Choose When It Sends: Send it On a schedule, such as every Friday, or only when things go quiet: no shoutouts given or received in the number of weeks you choose.
- Choose How It Arrives: Under Deliver as, post in the channel, DM people who haven't given a shoutout in 1 to 4 weeks, or both. Manager nudges are always a DM.
- Write the Message: Keep the default, "Who made your week easier? Give them a shoutout.", or write your own, and pick the CultureBot default image, your own image, or none.
- Save: Turn the nudge on and save.
Your nudges appear under All settings on the same tab, next to any digest for the same audience.
Good to Know
- One DM a day at most. Nobody gets more than one nudge DM a day, however many nudges you run.
- A quiet nudge waits before firing again. After it sends, it waits the same number of weeks before it can send again.
- People can turn off nudge DMs. Anyone who switches off Nudge reminders by DM on their profile gets no nudge DMs. Channel posts still appear.
- No digest needed. A nudge works on its own, though it pairs well with a shoutout digest.
Used Shoutout Day?
Shoutout Day has been phased out. If your workspace had it on, it moved to a channel nudge on the same channel, days, message, and image, and your Shoutout Day settings now read "Shoutout Day is now a nudge." Two differences: a schedule of every 3 weeks became every 4, and the midday and almost-over follow-up messages no longer send.
